Seems simple enough, the man was great, you must exonerate. I mean who would not support that? We acknowledge land acknowledgements are an improvement but there is much work to be done on them and then we throw down on the trend of non Indigenous to pan Indigenize Indigenous people! Nobody who went to French schools would think Riel was a traitor, whether they identity as Métis or not. I was shocked to learn Canadians who go to English schools could possibly come to think this. So you can imagine my shock when I heard the two you lawyers from MNO on the Agenda say "I learned like everyone else that Riel was a traitor ".... a lawyer who uses the argument of "self-awareness" for criteria to recognise Métis outside RR.... Very bizarre.
