Note: I am a francophone métisse in Ontario. I have been reflecting on the impact of Métis discourse in English and the organisational landscape with respect to Québec or French-speaking Métis communities and what appears to be erasure, quasi-invisability, or hostility toward the French heritage in the mix and variety of Métis family and community lineages. I have also been reflecting varieties of mitchif in this context and how mitchif may have been politicised. If ever I can help, let me know.
