We discuss the latest headlines in the Métis world. A "national" annual general assembly complete with a non Métis self proclaimed expert in Métis identity, an investigation into abuse by a for profit foster company in Manitoba, more failure of the federal government to live up to it's obligations, and finally a fantastic piece of news from the Fort McKay Métis community.

It starts with ourselves and our communities and our solidarities with FN and other friends.

...and Radio Canada. They report on FN issues every day. Every day...But because we apparently do not have inclusive models of communication and coverage, nobody knows. It is too much to focus on racism stories in QB. Check out Samian and the old Innu band Kashtun. Attikamek communities speak their language and is a success story. Yes people get together and have powwows. Yes Prof SM does counter academically... and it takes a lot of energy and is draining. And there are others who do research. There is a full dissertation on Eastern Métis. Robert Papen researches Mitchif.. etc etc You are correct. Everyone needs to share and attest to their lived experience. Elders, your grandparents, family, storytelling. Research is Ceremony and starts with our relationship to ancestors, stories, our Métis ecology, our relationship to human and all living creatures. We need to create and recreate ourselves. Please tell us when your events are and I will try to come.

MNC and co. claiming there are no Mėtis in QB and Acadia and claiming those Métis of identity theft while using symbology that comes from FN and French Canadian contact : name of Métis, sash, RR cart, Louis Riel a Métis French Canadian nationalist qui they cannot read apparently, and Mitchif as official language of Métis....which is archaic French influenced by Ojibway and Cree prononciation....with a national anthem in Franco-métis that they translate into English...instead of drawing on Cree or the now extinct "half breed" Bungee language spoken till the 80s (mix of Ojibway and Orcadian Gaelic ). And a prof who theorises on telling "fellow French Canadians " to renounce claiming Indigenous or mixed ancestry. And You know they deal with a government that claims to be bilingual but operates in English and sends to translation. Thé rest of us are object of translation and British Canadian administration. MNC and MNO are not inclusive just like colonial institutions. People love To hate QB and French speakers but this Métis will not name this but it obvious for those who are the intersection of these communities. As you say, the approach is a politics of exclusion and not Indigenous. Research is Ceremony Shawn Wilson). We are all interconnected to all our relations. They should talk to Métis elders and professors. Dr Leclair says: Métis is a verb... We are called to action from coast to coast...
