A great live show with some great points made by our callers.  We chat about the upcoming Métis identity meetings and the current state of Métis organizations.

Today we break down some of the statements made in various interviews and statements by leadership within the MMF/MNC.  From statements of condemnation for the solidarity movement and protestors, comments made about Ontario Métis, and their pride and joy at their partnership with resource extraction corporations there is a lot of things to work through.

Heather Morigeau joins me to talk about bringing some of the White Bison healing programs too Calgary.  Programs such as Medicine Wheel and the 12 Steps as well as the Mending Broken Hearts program.  Her work through Freedom's Path Recovery Society has been able to train several facilitators and launched the programs over the past few months.

Dr. Michel Bouchard is a professor of anthropology at the University of Northern British Columbia and secretary of the World Council of Anthropological Associations. He co-authored Songs upon the Rivers: The Buried History of the French-Speaking Canadiens and Métis from the Great Lakes and the Mississippi across to the Pacific (with Robert Foxcurran and Sébastien Malette) and Les Bois-Brûlés de l’Outaouais: Une étude ethnoculturelle des Métis de la Gatineau (with Malette and Guillaume Marcotte).

We are joined by Charlie Fife who is the President of the Métis Federation of Canada and we have a fantastic conversation about how the MFC is moving forward, their views on Métis identity and the importance of building strong positive relationships with First Nations.
