Union Saint-Joseph is the one you are talking about, founded by Riel, in my understanding. There were articles in Radio Canada about how they were not consulted in Jan 2017 (forget which summit) and how they get no funding. Their work is voluntary. (Just like my aunties and their work, though they do apply for grants). Madame Dumont from the Council of First Métis People said that Union Saint-Joseph are perceived as "French Canadians".... I could go on and on... I will try to get a blog going in French or bilingual yi capture these elements that I have been noticing. Marsee poor le podcast!
